Service staff apparently didn't read the online appointment to see I needed state inspection, and to investigate issues with seat upholstery. Ended up waiting an extra 20 min while they brought the vehicle back in for the inspection, didn't even bother bringing up the upholstery issue as I didn't have any more time to waste there.

Originally brought car to dealer garage in June for problems. Was found that oil was excessively low. Oil was refilled etc and test drove. The car had not been leaking oil underneath. When I questioned why the oil would be low, the desk person said "the car is getting older and burning the oil off faster. You need to check the oil regularly and add oil as needed". This didn't really make sense to me as the car was only 7 years old but I'm no mechanic. Car was brought back in January and notified the garage that the car continues to lose oil and no oil is leaking underneath. I said there has got to be something wrong. Garage found excessive oil consumption related to excessive wear on piston rings. Bill for $3000. Shortly after this, I received notice in the mail that there was a class action lawsuit against GM for this exact problem. I was not very happy to find this out since the original problem was back in June and not properly investigated by mechanic. And since the work was not done until january i was over the mileage and age of the car being covered by the class action suit. I called the garage to notify them about this known issue and the desk person did not seem to really care about my concerns. Then to add to issues, I noticed a few weeks after the work was done that my car was now leaking oil underneath. I did not realize it at first since my garage floor is black and I thought the wet spot was just melted snow. Car was brought back to the garage and found a bad seal which was related to the work that had been done. All in all not happy with this whole process
Thank you for reaching out to us. We regret to hear about the situation you have described. I did look more into your repair and the information about a Class Action wasn't found however there is a GM Special Policy Bulletin that came out and in January 2020 referencing Oil Consumption that only covers the vehicle up to 120,000 miles. After reviewing our records it shows that when you were here in June the vehicle had 123,556 miles which at that time it would have been out of the Policy parameters as well. If you feel that GM should reimburse you for the repair I would suggest calling 1-800-222-1020, Chevrolet Customer Assistance, and request from them what you would like because it is beyond the parameters for our Service Manager to assist. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused but please let us know how you make out. Tim Parker
